WebPatients with recurrent or persistent symptoms of achalasia after Heller myotomy (HM) commonly undergo one of two procedures, namely redo myotomy or pneumatic dilation (PD). Peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) is another treatment option for these refractory patients, but data on the effectiveness and safety of this approach are limited.
