WebApr 3, 2016 · At a low level, a git submodule consists of the following elements, A commit object at the top of the submodule tree, (In recent versions of Git) A subdirectory in .git/modules to host the Git objects for the submodule, An entry in the .gitmodules configuration file. WebBy default, the git pull command recursively fetches submodules changes, as we can see in the output of the first command above. However, it does not update the submodules. This is shown by the output of the git status command, which shows the submodule is “modified”, and has “new commits”.
